Operating from Historic Charter Boat Row at 1801 N Roosevelt Blvd in Key West, Gulfstream Fishing has built a solid reputation with an impressive 4.8-star rating from over 1,500 customer reviews. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this charter company makes it easy to book the fishing trip that works for your schedule.

What stands out about Gulfstream is their crew's knowledge of local waters. According to their Google My Business listing, customers consistently mention captains who "knew exactly where to go" and put groups "right in the honey hole." That's the kind of experience you want when you're paying for a charter.

The operation runs out of Key West's established charter boat row, which means they're part of a community of professional guides with decades of combined experience. You can reach them at (305) 296-8494 or visit their website at gulfstreamkeywest.com.

Action-packed trips for all skill levels

If you're looking for consistent action, Gulfstream delivers. Customer Dave Kenderdine reported that "Everyone was reeling in fish all day long," while Darcheena McVey caught at least five fish on her very first boat fishing trip. The crew works hard to make sure everyone gets time on the rod, regardless of experience.

Patient crew with teaching mindset

First-time saltwater anglers appreciate this approach. One nervous beginner specifically praised crew member Christian for "calming my nerves and actually teaching me a few techniques." That kind of attention makes a huge difference when you're trying something new.

High keeper rates

Multiple reviewers mention bringing home "slews" of yellowtail snapper and other keeper fish. Renee Van Bergen noted that "most were keepers" during their trip, which is what you want when you're planning to cook your catch.

With 1,566 reviews averaging 4.8 stars on Google, the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Here's what people are saying:

Crew knowledge and skill gets mentioned constantly. Reviewers specifically call out captains like Dan and crew members like Ryan and Christian for their fish-finding abilities and teaching approach. "They knew exactly where to go" appears in multiple reviews.

Family-friendly atmosphere comes through in many comments. Parents appreciate crews who work well with kids and first-timers, creating a welcoming environment rather than a serious tournament vibe.

Consistent action is a major theme. While no guide can guarantee fish every single trip, Gulfstream's reviews show a pattern of steady catching rather than long dead periods.

The main limitation mentioned is seasonal variation, which affects all Key West guides equally. Some reviewers note slower action during off-peak times, though crews adapt by changing tactics or locations.

First-time saltwater anglers - The crew's patient teaching approach and beginner-friendly style make this a solid choice if you're new to offshore fishing.

Families with mixed experience levels - When you've got kids, nervous spouses, or a group with varying skill levels, you need a crew that can handle everyone. Multiple reviews confirm Gulfstream does this well.

Groups wanting keeper fish - If your goal is catching dinner, not just photos, the consistent mentions of taking home yellowtail snapper and other table fare suggest they target species you can actually eat.

Visitors who need scheduling flexibility - Operating 24/7 means you can potentially book around other vacation plans more easily than guides with limited hours.

Book your trip for early morning if possible. Key West fishing tends to be better before the sun gets high and the water warms up. The bite often slows in the heat of the day.

If you're targeting specific species, mention that when you book. While the crew will adjust to conditions on the day, letting them know you're hoping for mahi, snapper, or whatever else helps them plan the approach.

Bring good sunscreen and reapply it. You'll be exposed for hours, and even overcast days can burn you badly. The reflection off the water makes it worse.

Ask the crew to recommend a restaurant for cooking your catch. This is standard practice in Key West, and many dockside restaurants will prepare your fish multiple ways for a reasonable fee.

We had so much fun! Captain Dan and first mate Ryan were great! They knew exactly where to go! Put us right in the honey hole! Both were super knowledgeable about all the fish species. Everyone was reeling in fish all day long. We had a great time! Highly recommend!!!

Today I had an amazing adventure. Going on my first boat fishing trip. I was extremely nervous, but went ahead with my husband and friends. Christian did an amazing job of calming my nerves and actually teaching me a few techniques. Because of that I was able to enjoy the trip and catch at least five fish. 🎣🫶🏽
